CECILIA MILAM MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Cecilia Milam began teaching at St. Juliana School in 1976 as a substitute teacher and as the Second Grade teacher in the fall of 1978.  She taught the children basic academics; however her teaching of the religious studies touched thousands.

Her formation of the second graders for over 23 years was so loving and truly brought Jesus alive in the hearts of the children.  Each year the students would have to create their own prayer space in their bedroom, or as the students called them...... “their altars”.   To this day most of her students still have their altars.

Mrs. Milam’s service knew no bounds as she made the Holy Spirit come alive in the classroom, the campus and the greater community.  Her dedication to serving our Lord touched so many lives.

This scholarship is given to the student who exhibits that love, determination and faith she portrayed in living out the Baptismal promises that all of us are called to use.
