Accelerated Reading Quizzes

Renaissance Place (Accelerated Reader) currently has 139,286 quizzes available.  These quizzes range from Lower Grade =LG interest level to Middle Grade=MG, Middle Grade + = MG+, to Upper Grade=UG, (level information below from Renaissance Place).

As a Catholic school we must adhere to our Mission Statement when choosing books for students. Please remember that because a quiz is available it does not mean it follows our Mission Statement.    As parents you may allow your child to read any books that are available.  Due to recent confusion with the larger AR database we must remind you that many quizzes are available, but have not been approved as books we currently own in our library.  It is up to you as parents to assist your child when choosing a book at a public library or bookstore.  It is very important that students pick a book by interest level.

What is Interest Level (IL)?
Interest level is based on the content of a book that includes, characterization, and plot. The interest level attached to the book indicates age group appropriateness. Interest level designations reflect the judgment of the book's publisher and the professionals at Renaissance Learning. We group content appropriateness into four categories: LG = Lower Grades (K-3); MG = Middle Grades (4-8); MG+ = Middle Grades Plus (6 and up); and UG = Upper Grades (9-12). However, the final decision as to whether the content of a specific book is appropriate for a particular student is the responsibility of school librarians, teachers, and parents.
