Tech Class Info

Tech Class Info:

St. Juliana uses technology to enhance student learning by providing the necessary resources and infrastructure for success in our digital world. As the technology instructor, my goal is to ensure that students become technologically proficient so they can thrive as 21st-century learners, workers, and citizens. Our students are provided with grade-appropriate technology skills that cover all grade-level ISTE state standards.

In addition to meeting these standards, we emphasize internet safety, digital literacy, and digital citizenship in every grade, tailoring instruction to be grade-level appropriate. Our upper-grade students also receive instruction in basic life skills and financial literacy. Students at all grade levels have numerous opportunities to utilize various tools, apps, and programs for assignments and assessments, both in the classroom and in the Technology Lab. Keyboarding instruction begins in TK and continues through 8th grade.

Students in grades 2nd through 8th use Google Suite, focusing on Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets, as well as how skills transfer over to Microsoft Office programs. At St. Juliana, students become part of an online learning community through Google Classroom, which encourages participation, collaboration, and interaction on classroom topics. Our technology program is designed to successfully prepare students for high school and a technology-rich future.
