Tech Class Info
At St. Juliana, we leverage technology to enrich student learning by offering the essential resources and infrastructure needed for success in our digital age. As the technology instructor, my goal is to ensure that students achieve technological proficiency, equipping them to excel as 21st-century learners, workers, and citizens. We provide grade-appropriate technology skills that align with ISTE state standards for each grade level.
In addition to meeting these standards, we emphasize internet safety, digital literacy, and digital citizenship at every grade level, with instruction tailored to be age-appropriate. Upper-grade students also receive education in basic life skills and financial literacy. All students have numerous opportunities to use various tools, apps, and programs for assignments and assessments, both in the classroom and in the Technology Lab. Keyboarding instruction starts in TK and continues through 8th grade.
Students in grades 2 through 8 use Google Suite, focusing on Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets, and learning how these skills transfer to Microsoft Office programs. At St. Juliana, students engage with an online learning community through Google Classroom, which fosters participation, collaboration, and interaction on classroom topics. Our technology program is designed to effectively prepare students for high school and a technology-driven future.
