Google Guardian

Google Guardian:

After joining, parents will receive regular, automatic email summaries for each student in Grades 3-8. Please note that students in Grade 2 will begin their Google Training at the start of Trimester #3.

FAQ: Can I join Google Classroom?
Google Classroom does not allow guardians direct access to classrooms. Parents can only receive guardian summaries. You can find more information about guardian summaries [here]. For more details on Parents and Google Classroom, click [here]. If you’re not receiving the guardian summary, please return to the settings page (accessible from the invitation) and double-check your settings. If you didn’t receive the invitation, please check your SPAM folder or contact Mrs. Palos to have another invitation sent.

Guardians can choose the frequency of their emails - daily or weekly - and can unsubscribe at any time.

Guardian email summaries include:

  • Missing Work: Assignments that are late at the time the email is sent.
  • Upcoming Work: Assignments due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails).
  • Class Activity: Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers.

Message to Parents of Grades 3-8:

Dear Parents,

As of today, all parents and guardians listed in FACTS have been invited to become "Google Guardians" on their child's account. Please ensure you have signed up to receive Google Guardian notifications. Those who subscribed last year have been automatically rolled over. If you need to add a new email address to your child’s account, please contact Mrs. Palos.

We highly recommend signing up for DAILY notifications instead of WEEKLY. This is an excellent way to help your child stay on top of their assignments. Google Guardian will notify you of assigned work, missing assignments, upcoming due dates, and class announcements.

Please see the sample email below for reference.

Additional information can be found HERE.

Please refrain from logging into your child’s account to mark items as completed. It’s important for students to manage their own accounts and responsibilities. Instead, use Google Guardian to guide them in completing assignments and meeting due dates.

For those already receiving emails, if you need to adjust your settings from WEEKLY to DAILY (or vice versa), please click on the "SETTINGS" link at the bottom of the summary email you’re currently receiving. Unfortunately, we are unable to make this change for you.

Guardian Invitations for Your Child’s Account:

If you haven’t signed up or accepted the invitation to become a guardian on your child’s account, or if you no longer have access to the original invitation, please contact Mrs. Palos for assistance. A new invitation can be sent directly from Google. If you’d like to use a different email address, please include that in your reply. There is no limit to the number of guardians who can be added—older siblings, tutors, and grandparents are all welcome!

FACTS Grade Book for Grades 4-8:

I strongly encourage students to check their grades in FACTS at least once a week. This helps them resolve any assignments marked as M (missing), P (pending), I (incomplete), or A (absent). It's also a good practice to verify that scores have been accurately entered by teachers across all classes. Students are welcome to attend office hours to discuss any questions they may have about assignments.

If you are unable to log into your FACTS account or don’t remember your family login information, please reach out to Mrs. Young in the front office.
